Terms of Service
How bookings, payment, deposits and cancellations work.
A booking is a quote until it is paid for. What holds a scooter is a confirmed payment, not a form: until then the price is held for you and the scooter is not.
Prices are shown before tax and 7% sales tax is added at checkout. A security deposit is charged to your card at pick-up and refunded within 7 business days of the return, less tolls, tickets and other charges; at a branch that holds deposits instead, it is authorised on your card and released in the same time. How much depends on the plan and the scooter you choose - it starts at $120.00 - and the exact amount is shown at checkout before you are asked to pay anything. The deposit is not part of the price and is not taxed.
Some rentals are priced by their length under a promotion that runs between two dates; when one applies, your quote shows the normal price and what comes off it. For that price the length is counted on the branch's calendar and closing time, not in 24-hour periods: returned on the day of pick-up at or before closing is a same-day rental; returned on the next day the branch is open, at or before closing, is one day; a return after closing, or on a day the branch is closed, counts one more day. If you return the scooter earlier than booked, the rental is recalculated at the length you actually took, and anything you paid above that is kept as a Vamo credit, not refunded in money - the cancellation policy explains how credit works and when it can be refunded.
We may cancel a booking that was never a real price. That means a booking taken at no charge, at a nominal amount, or at a figure obviously below the normal market rate for that vehicle and that period, where it came from a system fault, a mistyped rate, a mispriced promotion or the misuse of a discount code. We will tell you as soon as we find it and refund everything that was paid.
We may cancel for reasons outside our control. Hurricane, tropical storm, flood, fire, civil emergency, a government or law-enforcement order, a road closure, a power or network failure, or anything else no reasonable operator could have prevented.
We may cancel because the scooter did not come back. If the rider before you writes the vehicle off, damages it beyond use, or simply does not return it, that scooter is gone and it may be the one you booked. We will try to move you onto another vehicle, another class or another date, and we will say so quickly. We cannot guarantee it.
In all of those cases the most we owe you is a full refund of everything you have paid us, and you may choose a credit instead. We do not pay for anything else that follows from a cancellation - flights, hotels, taxis, tours, lost earnings or a more expensive rental somewhere else.
To ride you must be old enough for the class you booked, hold a licence valid for it where one is required, present the same card and identity document you booked with, and be fit to ride. Helmets are worn. Traffic law, parking law and the geographic limits in the agreement apply to every mile.
We may refuse or end a rental, at any point, for safety, suspected fraud, a false document, abuse or threats towards our staff, money owed to us from a previous rental, or a payment reversed after the fact. Where we end a rental for one of those reasons the unused portion is not refunded.
Tolls, parking tickets, traffic fines, fuel, and mileage over what your plan includes are charged after the return, along with an administration fee where one is stated in the agreement.
These terms are governed by the law of the State of Florida. We may change them; the version that applies to your rental is the one you agreed to when you booked, and it is attached to your agreement.
Currency: every amount on this site, in your booking and on your receipts is in US dollars (USD).
SMS Terms: Vamo Mobility Group LLC sends text messages about your booking only if you tick the box at checkout or agree at our counter: your confirmation, payment and signing links, and pick-up and return reminders. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time and HELP for help, or write to info@vamoscooters.com. Agreeing to texts is not a condition of booking. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Privacy Policy
Vamo Mobility Group LLC facilitates bookings for its corporate locations, franchisees and affiliated operators. What we collect, who receives it, and how long we keep it. Licence images are deleted 90 days after the rental ends.
Rental agreement
The rental agreement itself, including the liability waiver and the arbitration clause.
The rental agreement is the document you sign at pick-up, and it is the one that governs the rental. You can read the whole thing before you sign: it is shown on screen, and a signed copy is emailed to you and kept with your booking. What follows is that document in plain words. Where the two differ, the signed agreement is what counts.
- You are renting the scooter, not buying it. It stays ours, and only the riders named on the agreement may ride it.
- You bring it back at the time and place on the agreement, with the fuel or charge it left with. Late returns are charged $20.00 a day plus any day the next rider loses.
- Damage, theft and recovery come out of the deposit first and then off your card, up to the limits set out in the agreement. We show you the vehicle and record its condition with you before it moves - that is Annex A, and you sign it too.
- Helmets are worn. No passengers beyond what the seat is rated for, no racing, no off-road, no towing, and never under the influence. Delivery and courier work is allowed (clause 9E of the agreement).
- Tickets, tolls and fines are yours, plus the administration fee for handling them.
- Tell us about a fault, a warning light or a service interval instead of riding through it. Running it dry, running it damaged or ignoring a service is on you.
- We can take the scooter back if payment stops, if we cannot reach you, or if it is being ridden against the agreement.
- Disputes are decided under Florida law and the agreement contains an arbitration clause. Read it - it limits how a claim can be brought.
Cancellation policy
What happens if you cancel, return early, or return late.
What you may cancel, and what you get back, is the option you chose at checkout. Each one says in a line what it commits you to, and the one you picked is printed on your confirmation. There is no second policy behind it.
Cancel inside the free window shown on your option and everything you paid comes back, by the way you paid it, with no fee of any kind. Cancel after it, or do not turn up, and what you paid becomes a Vamo credit against a future rental rather than money back - and where your option was a card on file with nothing charged, the no-show fee on that option is charged to it. Your booking page shows the credit and the date it is valid until.
Returning early is not refunded in money. The rental is recalculated at the length you actually took, at the prices you booked at, and what you paid above that stays with you as a Vamo credit. If the shorter rental costs more than you paid - because a reduction for a longer booking no longer applies - the difference is charged. A rental paid week by week simply stops at the last week that fell due: the weeks after the return are cancelled and nothing is recalculated.
If you would rather have money than credit, contact us. A manager may then refund the credit to you in money, less an administration fee of $25.00. That fee is never charged on a cancellation inside the free window, and a refund is never more than you paid us. A refund goes back by the way you paid where it can - to the card you paid with - and otherwise through the branch.
A deposit is not a cancellation charge. It is refunded (or, where it was only held, released) within 7 business days of the return whatever happened to the booking, less anything the agreement lets us take from it.
If we cancel - a system mispricing, a storm, a scooter that did not come back - you get everything you paid, in full, by the route it came in. You may take a credit instead if you would rather keep the booking alive.
Rarely, life makes a nonsense of a policy. Serious illness, a hospital admission, a death in the family, a cancelled flight or a refused entry are all things we have refunded or credited before, outside what the option you chose entitles you to. Write to us with something that shows it - a certificate, a doctor's note, an airline notice - and a manager will look at it. It is a decision we make case by case and it is not a right you can rely on when you book. Money refunded this way is less the administration fee of $25.00, unless the booking was cancelled inside the free window - by you or by us - or the manager waives it.
